Tecar Therapy applications with bipolar electrodes offer the advantage of greater treatment dynamics and comfort, as they do not require the use of a return plate.

In the bipolar capacitive system, the “plate” is integrated into the same surface as the electrode. This results in a more comfortable treatment for the patient—for example, eliminating the discomfort of having to lie on a cold return plate under the abdomen during back treatments.

For the physiotherapist, this system provides greater specificity in stimulating the target tissue and increased treatment flexibility, allowing the integration of therapeutic exercise and biological stimulation—an approach that was very difficult, and sometimes impossible, to achieve with the unipolar system.
